Emergency: Teenagers turning voilent.

Project: Frequently reading about voilent teenagers in the news, we took up this project. A project that will teach children about peace. Teaching good morals through story telling and about inner peace through meditation. Spending about one hour every week. Goal is to reach 200 kids in 2 years.

Update: Started this in March 07. By June we have done this excercise with 10 kids. At least two kids are regular visitors now.

Mission

The goal is to have people come together to recognize an emergency. To be responsibile for it as a citizen of this world. To try in his or her capacity to help others survive.

An "emergency" could be any thing from the "fast melting glaciers of Himalayas", to the "diminishing number of sparrows in vicinity". Different groups could come up with different ways to face an emergency. For example to survive "pollution" one group could take up a project "to plant 100 trees in 2 years", another group could "inspire 10 people to plant 10 trees each in 2 years", another group could "motivate 50 people to travel by non-polluting means once a week".

A project could be of any duration, 2 years or 5 years or a month. It has to have a deadline and an achievable, realistic outcome. After the end of the project one could either close it, or continue it, or take up something else that is more inspiring.
